Soccer Game Preview: Spaulding vs. South Burlington

The Spaulding Crimson Tide will face off against the South Burlington Wolves on Saturday. Spaulding will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Spaulding is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Rutland a 2-0 shutout. Give Spaulding's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, South Burlington faced North Country Union in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Wolves skirted past the Falcons 3-2. South Burlington haven't had any issues with North Country Union recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

South Burlington's win bumped their record up to 3-9-3. As for Spaulding, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4-1.

Spaulding couldn't quite get it done against South Burlington in their previous matchup back in October of 2016 as they fell 2-0. Can the Crimson Tide avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
