Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Albany's 19th in Last 23 Outings

After losing to Loranger the last time they met, Albany decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Albany Hornets came out on top against the Loranger Wolves by a score of 56-43 on Thursday. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Wolves are ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Albany is also on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 23 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 28-11 record this season. As for Loranger, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-24.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Albany won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ponchatoula at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Loranger, they will challenge Franklinton at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
