Basketball Recap: Tahlequah Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Tahlequah challenged Collinsville on Thursday. The Tigers fell 47-40 to the Cardinals. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Collinsville had a senior duo take command as Jennah Christian went 6-for-8 to rack up 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals and Hayden McDowell shot 40% from the field en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Ella Armstrong, who posted seven points.

Tahlequah's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Collinsville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Tahlequah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-46 defeat against Coweta on the 5th. As for Collinsville, they have also already played their next contest, a 65-23 victory against Stilwell on the 8th.
