Basketball Recap: Hill Country Christian Comes Up Short

Hill Country Christian and Macedonian Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Hill Country Christian had to settle for second. They came up short against Macedonian Christian, falling 63-37. The Rams' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

It was another big night for Ethan Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten steals for Macedonian Christian. Those ten steals gave Gonzalez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Landon, who posted 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Hill Country Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Macedonian Christian, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 25-11.

Hill Country Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Macedonian Christian, they will face off against Founders Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Macedonian Christian has won three straight at home, while Founders Christian won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
