Basketball Game Preview: Lakewood Gators vs. Hartsville Red Foxes

Having just played yesterday, the Lakewood Gators will get right back to it and host the Hartsville Red Foxes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Monday, Lakewood came up short against Wilson and fell 51-43. The defeat continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Hartsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by Darlington 62-27.

Lakewood will have to contain Brooke Mitchell as she made an impact in Hartsville's last game. She posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Hartsville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.

Lakewood won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January, slipping by Hartsville 52-51. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Mitchell, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards.
