Softball Recap: Bonners Ferry Comes Up Short

Bonners Ferry extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-9 in the process. They came up short against the Post Falls Trojans, falling 15-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.

As for Post Falls, the victory got them back to even at 9-9. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.

For Post Falls' part, the team relied heavily on Sienna Williams, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Williams has posted since back in March. Summer Dan was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonners Ferry will face off against Timberlake at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Badgers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Post Falls, they will square off against Sandpoint at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.27 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
