Soccer Game Preview: Morgan Township vs. Wheeler

Morgan Township hasn't had much luck against Wheeler recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Cherokees will square off against the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Morgan Township is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Washington Township a 4-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for Morgan Township as they're now sitting on four straight.

They hit Washington Township with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Audrey Rakowski (2), Addie Gingrich, and Lilliana Pappas.

Meanwhile, Wheeler made easy work of Westville on Thursday and carried off a 4-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Wheeler in their matchups with Westville: they've now won six in a row.

Morgan Township's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Wheeler, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7-1.

Morgan Township couldn't quite get it done against Wheeler when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Cherokees avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
