The Palmer Terrors will square off against the Canon City Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Palmer is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Mesa Ridge just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 3-2. While the Terrors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Grizzlies 25-14 in the first set.
Palmer actually scored more points across those five sets (109-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-23, 25-23, 21-25, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Canon City had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cougars.
In the three sets Canon City was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-8, 20-25, 25-15.
Canon City had a senior duo take command as Sol Manjarrez had 15 digs and two aces and Lauryn Vineyard had 14 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Vineyard has posted since back in September.
Palmer's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Canon City, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
