Volleyball Recap: Citrus Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Citrus Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against the Yucaipa Thunderbirds, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunderbirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-21, 25-15.

When it comes to explaining why Citrus Valley lost, don't look at Sophia Swogger. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and two aces. Swogger has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 28 times she's played. Vanessa Stallone also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Yucaipa found their leader in sophomore Tana Mead, who had ten assists and three aces.

Citrus Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Yucaipa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-15.

Citrus Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Redlands on the 9th. Yucaipa has also already played their next contest (against Beaumont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
