            Football Preview: Wayne County Wildcats vs. McKenzie Rebels        
        
		
        
        
            
 After each having a week off, the Wayne County Wildcats and the McKenzie Rebels will shake off the rust and duke it out  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
Last Friday, Wayne County came up short against Cornersville  and fell  35-22.
 Wayne County's  loss came about despite a quality game from  Case Butler, who rushed for 127 yards and three  scores.
Meanwhile, McKenzie had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it seven last Friday. They took their  matchup  with ease, bagging  a  49-6 win over the Tigers. With the Rebels ahead  34-6 at the half, the  game was all but over already.
Wayne County better keep an eye on  Cole Brown. He was instrumental in McKenzie's win, throwing for 316 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes, and also rushing for 37 yards and three  TDs. Brown didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended one pass. 92 of  Brown's passing yards were hauled in by Avery Brown.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to McKenzie's defense and their three sacks. In that department,  Aiden Legens was the leader with two.
 Wayne County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for McKenzie, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
 Wayne County took a serious blow against McKenzie  in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024, falling  47-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
