Kami Arnett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Arnett was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Sidney Parks looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Kenzi Arnett was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Krista Haberkorn, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Plainfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenwood only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Brownsburg had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Ben Davis on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Giants recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Etta Schroering looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ag (Ava) Pogue, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Bailey Paddock, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Plainfield's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Brownsburg, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.
Plainfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Brownsburg in their previous meeting on May 8th, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Quakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
