Gulf Pointe Latin is 0-3 against L.E.A.D. Academy since November of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the L.E.A.D. Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Gulf Pointe Latin is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Gulf Pointe Latin suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 71-37 loss at the hands of Calvary Christian Academy. Gulf Pointe Latin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-19.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Micah Crumpler, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, L.E.A.D. Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. The contest between L.E.A.D. Academy and Jay wasn't particularly close, with L.E.A.D. Academy falling 92-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (58), L.E.A.D. Academy still had to take the loss.
Gulf Pointe Latin has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.
Gulf Pointe Latin came up short against L.E.A.D. Academy in their previous matchup on January 11th, falling 58-46. Can Gulf Pointe Latin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
