Roosevelt got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Milo Pascual out in front who rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown. Pascual's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 109 rushing yards. Another passer making a difference was Jasiah Ramirez, who threw for 111 yards and three TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Roosevelt proved: they limited Mountain View to a paltry 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Thomas Dunn for the heroic effort on defense: he. Roosevelt didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 14.
Roosevelt didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ryder Tymkowych, Merrick Sauer, and Lane Dodenhoeft picked up one apiece. Roosevelt received some extra help from Tanner Caster, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Pueblo County hadn't done well against Pueblo East recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hornets strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 35-20. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won four contests in a row.
Roosevelt better keep an eye on Brody Harrison. He was instrumental in Pueblo County's win, throwing for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Harrison's passing game has become a key predictor of the Hornets' success: the team is 6-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.
