Basketball Game Preview: Stephenson Eagles vs. Forest Park Trojans

Stephenson is 1-8 against Forest Park since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Stephenson Eagles will square off against the Forest Park Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Stephenson took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They managed a 68-64 victory over Nah Tah Wahsh. The Eagles haven't had any issues with Nah Tah Wahsh recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Forest Park made easy work of L'Anse on Thursday and carried off an 83-59 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 24 points or more this season.

Forest Park is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points over those games. Stephenson pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Stephenson was dealt a bruising 74-43 defeat at the hands of Forest Park in their previous matchup back in January. Can Stephenson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
