Softball Game Preview: East Hill Christian Eagles vs. Laurel Hill Hoboes

East Hill Christian hasn't had much luck against Laurel Hill recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Hoboes at 5:00 p.m. East Hill Christian has given up an average of 15.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Hill Christian is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season last Friday. They lost 16-0 to West Florida Baptist Academy.

Meanwhile, Laurel Hill came up short against Rocky Bayou Christian on Thursday and fell 15-10.

Savannah Riley was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero). She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Kaelin Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That hit marked the first that she got this season. Nevaeh Langford was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Laurel Hill has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for East Hill Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

East Hill Christian suffered a grim 26-16 defeat to Laurel Hill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
