It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Somerset Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They secured a 27-21 W over the Stranahan Mighty Dragons. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Alexis Morffiz threw for 40 yards on five of ten attempts. Aramiay Abelle was her top target, picking up 75 receiving yards.

Somerset Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.7 points on average over those games. As for Stranahan, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Somerset Academy will square off against Dillard at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Somerset Academy 9.1, Dillard 10) so any points scored will be well earned. Stranahan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
