Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Maroons vs. Central A & M Raiders

The Clinton Maroons will head out to square off against the Central A & M Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Clinton came up short against Warrensburg-Latham and fell 60-51. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Cardinals are ranked 111th).

Meanwhile, Central A & M was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-45 heartbreaker at the hands of Shelbyville.

Central A & M's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Clinton, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 15-12.

Clinton strolled past Central A & M in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a score of 50-32. Does Clinton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central A & M turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
