Softball Recap: Fulton Jaguars vs. Sherman Oaks CES Knights
Fulton had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-9 to make it six. They came up short against the Sherman Oaks CES Knights, falling 33-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 back in March.
As for Sherman Oaks CES, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average this season.
For Sherman Oaks CES' part, Stella Brewer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Brewer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Reagan Rosenthal was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and one double while going 3-for-6. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Sandoval, who went 3-for-4 with five runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Fulton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 25-0 defeat against Northridge Academy on the 28th. As for Sherman Oaks CES, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-3 victory against Hollywood on the 25th.
