Basketball Recap: Staples-Motley Takes a Loss

Staples-Motley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 57-25 loss at the hands of the Pelican Rapids Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Vikings are ranked 30th).

Staples-Motley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Pelican Rapids, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

Staples-Motley will take on New York Mills at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New York Mills will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Staples-Motley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pelican Rapids, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-50 loss against Hawley on the 31st.
