Recap: Bland Tigers vs. Wolfe City Wolves
The Bland Tigers proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 22) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 victory over Wolfe City. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but Bland was the better team in the second half.
Wolfe City's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cavan Armstrong, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Adams, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
The win makes it two in a row for Bland and bumps their season record up to 15-13. As for Wolfe City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.
Bland will square off against Honey Grove at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Honey Grove will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Wolfe City will take on Whitewright at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitewright is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
