Volleyball Recap: Homeschool Resource Center Falls to Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family in First Game of Season

HomeSchool Resource Center unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled against Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-11.

HomeSchool Resource Center's offense was headlined by Olivia Gillies and Poppy Mahalick, who picked up four kills apiece. Gillies really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 11. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

HomeSchool Resource Center has already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Rock River United on the 22nd. As for Chesterton Academy of the Holy Family, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Aurora Central Catholic on the 26th.
