Volleyball Recap: Antwerp Archers vs. Edon Bombers
Antwerp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Edon Bombers, falling 3-0. The Archers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bombers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Antwerp took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-20.
Edon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Genna Ripke, who had 36 assists and eight digs. Ripke is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played. Avery Aldrich was another key player, getting 19 digs and two aces.
Antwerp's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Edon, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.
Antwerp has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Continental on the 29th. As for Edon, they will head out to challenge Gorham Fayette at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
