Softball Recap: Gardena Panthers vs. San Pedro Pirates
After flying high against Rancho Dominguez last Friday, Gardena came back down to earth. The Gardena Panthers lost 20-2 to the San Pedro Pirates on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gardena of the 14-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on April 11th.
For San Pedro's part, Alexis Lopez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Lopez was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and a triple.
