Softball Recap: Leyden Comes Up Short

Leyden lost against Hinsdale South on May 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Eagles fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 7-5.

Abigail Cortez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmen Richardson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Leyden has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Hinsdale South, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-22-1.

Looking ahead, Leyden will host Addison Trail at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hinsdale South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
