Basketball Recap: Panama Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Panama lost to Westfield back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Panama Panthers took down the Westfield Wolverines 43-24. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

When it comes to explaining why Westfield lost, don't look at Mackenzie Schumaker. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points.

Panama's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Westfield, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Panama will venture away from home to take on Clymer Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Westfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chautauqua Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
