Baseball Recap: Hillcrest Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Idaho Falls on Thursday, Hillcrest came back down to earth. The Knights came up short against the Tigers on Friday, falling 14-3. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 13-6.

Mason Reichelt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases and two runs. Hillcrest is 2-1 when Reichelt posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Oaklen Lawrence, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Hillcrest's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11. As for Idaho Falls, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15.

Coming up, Hillcrest will challenge Bonneville at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bees have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Idaho Falls, they will square off against Blackfoot at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
