Football Recap: Anamosa Comes Up Short

Anamosa and Center Point-Urbana pushed the score to 33-30 the last time they played Center Point-Urbana, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Raiders fell 14-7 to the Stormin' Pointers. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stormin' Pointers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Anamosa now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Center Point-Urbana, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Anamosa is taking a road trip to challenge Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Raiders their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Center Point-Urbana, they will take on Independence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Stormin' Pointers will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
