Cherryville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They put the hurt on the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Ironmen in their matchups with the Gryphons: they've now won seven in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21, 25-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherryville will venture away from home to square off against North Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they will head out to take on Piedmont Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Gryphons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
