Baseball Game Preview: Newberry Panthers vs. Oak Hall Eagles

The Newberry Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Oak Hall Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newberry will be strutting in after a victory while Oak Hall will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Newberry beat Lanier County 13-10.

Aiden Michaux was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Tristan Woodrome was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Oak Hall suffered their biggest defeat since April 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 10-4 to P.K. Yonge.

Aaron Akins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3.

Newberry skirted past Oak Hall 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newberry since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
