League recap: Belluomini's hitting boosts Stagg

Kyle Belluomini was on fire this week, as he led Southwest Suburban - Red with a .368 average, three home runs and 10 RBIs. His Stagg team went 3-2.

Belluomini was the best pitcher in the league this week, leading the Chargers. He won one game and struck out seven batters.

Stagg's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 47 hits and 12 walks, both of which led the league. The Chargers' pitchers have been charged with only 296 hits and have struck out 135 batters. Belluomini is tops on the staff with 37 Ks.

Stagg racked up a league-leading 63 hits this week, bringing its total to 267 on the year, also tops in the league. The Chargers, which sit in third place, are led by Mike Farnan, who has accumulated 40 hits this season.



Stagg's Brian Valcarcel finished his week with 10 hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .273 and ranks thirteenth in the league with 21 hits.

Matt Klimasz was an RBI machine on Monday, as he knocked in four runs during Downers Grove South's 8-3 win over Stagg.
