Baseball Game Preview: Pinellas Park Patriots vs. Countryside Cougars

Pinellas Park hasn't had much luck against Countryside recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pinellas Park Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Countryside Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Pinellas Park earned an 8-4 win over Lakewood. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Dean Ross, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Dane Merryweather was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Ross wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Pinellas Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakewood only managed five hits.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Countryside ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They beat Seminole by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Luke Neubauer was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Hollenbeck, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Pinellas Park's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Countryside, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
