Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Effingham County). They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-21 victory over the South Effingham Mustangs. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Tucker Perkins had an outrageously good game as he threw for 288 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Jmere Doe-Davis handled things on the ground, rushing for 103 yards.

Effingham County's defense stepped up as well, laying out Liam Coburn. five times. Leading the way was Landon Carter with two sacks. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

South Effingham's loss came despite strong showings from Khyran White and Maddox Vasquez. White rushed for 118 yards, while Vasquez rushed for 45 yards and one score.

Effingham County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for South Effingham, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
