Basketball Recap: Andy Mclear Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Oakmont

Center was handed a 28-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Oakmont Vikings out 58-56. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Vikings back in January, they had to take a 69-54 defeat.

Center's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andy McLear, who posted 23 points and four steals. The match was McLear's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Nesmith, who had 11 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Oakmont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayden Washington dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Washington has scored all season. Aldin Bubic was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Center's record is now 10-15. As for Oakmont, they now have a losing record at 12-13.

Center wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 83-59 defeat against Colfax on the 7th. As for Oakmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-41 victory against Bear River on the 7th.
