It was a good run, but Niceville unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Pace Patriots. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
While Niceville ultimately came up short, they really made Pace work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 27-25, 25-19.
Kate Jannazo paced Niceville's offense, picking up nine kills. Jannazo got some help from Carnley Summerlin and her 25 assists. Aprille Trotter controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Pace was led to victory by Liv Riffell and Layla Claudio. Riffell had 11 digs and six assists, while Claudio had 12 assists and six digs. Riffell has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.
Niceville's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Pace, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, Niceville and Pace will both be playing Crestview the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Patriots will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
