Basketball Recap: Gateway Legacy Christian Academy Starts Season with Victory at Home

Gateway Legacy Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They skirted past the Mid-Missouri HomeSchool Mavericks 32-30. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Mid-Missouri HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from Savannah Sinnett, who shot 43% from the field on her way to 14 points and three steals. Taylor Dorr was another key player, putting up five points and nine rebounds.

Mid-Missouri HomeSchool is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Gateway Legacy Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Confluence Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Mid-Missouri HomeSchool, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-22 victory against St. Louis Christian HomeSchool on the 15th.
