North Vermillion took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against North Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons skirted past the Thunderbirds 12-11. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Addie Burns was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marki Chambliss, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
North Vermillion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
North Vermillion's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. As for North Central, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
