Softball Game Preview: Geneseo Blue Devils vs. Perry Yellowjackets

The Geneseo Blue Devils will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Perry Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Geneseo is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell 5-2 to Letchworth two weeks ago.

Geneseo got a good showing from Lydia Pearson, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Geneseo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendal Bennett, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Evie Warner was another, earning one run and three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Perry lost 25-7 to Wayland-Cohocton on Monday. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Geneseo beat Perry 3-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
