Baseball Game Preview: Irmo Yellow Jackets vs. Lower Richland Diamond Hornets

Irmo is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Lower Richland a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Irmo Yellow Jackets will be playing at home against the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Irmo is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since March 27th on Wednesday. They fell just short of Midland Valley by a score of 3-1.

Jayllen Fray made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliott Graham, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lower Richland fell victim to White Knoll and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Timberwolves, falling 15-0.

Irmo's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Lower Richland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-1.

Irmo beat Lower Richland 9-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2015. Will the Yellow Jackets repeat their success, or do the Diamond Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
