Baseball Recap: Chavez Sets Scoring Season-High Against Delano

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chavez). Everything went their way against the Delano Tigers on Tuesday as Chavez made off with a 15-1 win. Considering the Titans have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Sixtos was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Jayden Popoy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Sixtos wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Chavez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Chavez is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Delano and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Chavez didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-6 win against Independence on the 26th. As for Delano, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-10 loss against Chavez on the 27th.
