Recap: Goessel Bluebirds vs. Pretty Prairie Bulldogs
The Goessel Bluebirds won the last time they faced the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs, and things went their way on Saturday too. Goessel snuck past Pretty Prairie with a 56-51 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Goessel.
Pretty Prairie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being James White iii, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. White iii's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Gage Bowers, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Pretty Prairie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Goessel's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Pretty Prairie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goessel will take on Moundridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Moundridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Goessel likes a good challenge. As for Pretty Prairie, they will be playing at home against Central Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Central Christian Academy is ranked 301st, while Pretty Prairie is ranked 284th).
