Basketball Recap: Highland Tech Comes Up Short

Highland Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons, falling 60-20. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Twitty, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Twitty has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Samara Jones, who posted 16 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Highland Tech's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
