Basketball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Comes Up Short

Sunrise Mountain played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Green Valley Gators 69-35. The Miners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.

Green Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamarcus Carter, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. Magnus Siegel was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Sunrise Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Green Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Sunrise Mountain will welcome Chaparral at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Green Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Palo Verde at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Palo Verde knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Green Valley likes a good challenge.
