Basketball Recap: Zeeland East Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Zeeland East Chix were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-33 to the Cedar Springs Red Hawks. While the Chix didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Hawks 13-9 in the first quarter.

Zeeland East's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Cedar Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be Eastside v. Westside when Zeeland East and Zeeland West meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Springs, they will host Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
