Basketball Game Preview: Florida College Academy Falcons vs. Candlelight Christian Academy Flames

On Friday, Florida College Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Winter Haven Christian. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 win over the Warriors. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Candlelight Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 33-13 to Families Instructing Students HomeSchool. The Flames were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-3.

Skyler Taylor was Candlelight Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Taylor also led the team in assists with two.

Florida College Academy pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points per game. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Florida College Academy strolled past Candlelight Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 38-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for Florida College Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
