Football Game Preview: Lynnfield Pioneers vs. Amesbury Redhawks

The Lynnfield Pioneers will venture away from home to face off against the Amesbury Redhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lynnfield will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points last Friday, then bounced right back against Ipswich on Friday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 34-14 win. Considering the Pioneers' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Luke Disilvio had a dynamite game, picking up 147 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 45 yards and one TD. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Matt Tracy, who threw for 232 yards and two TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Amesbury strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 22-21 W against Pentucket Regional. 22 seems to be a good number for the Redhawks as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Amesbury's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lynnfield, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Lynnfield strolled past Amesbury in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
