The Shoshoni Wranglers will face off against the Sundance Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Shoshoni's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Sundance's offense will have their work cut out for them.
While Shoshoni didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They managed a 47-42 victory over Riverside back in December of 2024. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wranglers.
Shoshoni's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mayce Jarvis, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 16 points and three steals, and Addie Mason, who went 6 for 8 on her way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Harris, who posted four points and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sundance won against Hulett on Monday with 57 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Sundance breezed by Hulett to the tune of 57-8. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 31 points or more this season.
Shoshoni better focus on containing Jaylin Mills and Jude Crago as the pair were huge in Sundance's win. Mills went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points, while Crago put up 11 points and five steals. The match was Mills' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of MacKenna Olson, who had seven points.
The win (which was Sundance's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 43 points. As for Shoshoni, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Shoshoni has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Sundance struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
