Baseball Game Preview: Eldorado Eagles vs. Frankfort Redbirds

Eldorado hasn't had much luck against Frankfort recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Redbirds at 10:00 a.m.

Eldorado fell victim to Fairfield and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Mules.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Frankfort, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Mt. Vernon 5-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Redbirds have posted since March 21st.

Hunter Gaither spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jase Bennett, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. He has become a key player for Frankfort: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 8-10 otherwise.

Eldorado's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Frankfort, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Eldorado came up short against Frankfort in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 4-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
