Basketball Game Preview: Westby Norsemen vs. West Salem Panthers

The Westby Norsemen will take on the West Salem Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Westby came up short against Viroqua and fell 54-45. The Norsemen haven't had much luck with the Blackhawks recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, West Salem waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 72-31 win over the Raiders. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Raiders are ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Salem pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points over those games. As for Westby, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
