Football Recap: Sardis Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sardis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Alexandria Valley Cubs and fell 51-13. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Valley Cubs are ranked 112th).

Grant Coe threw for 29 yards on two of nine attempts.

Sardis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Alexandria, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sardis will venture away from home to challenge Boaz at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates' defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Alexandria, they will head out on the road to square off against Hokes Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
