Baseball Game Preview: Sycamore War Eagles vs. Greenbrier Bobcats

For the second straight game, Sycamore will face off against Greenbrier. The War Eagles will head out to challenge the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sycamore's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Greenbrier's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Sycamore will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Greenbrier, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The War Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bobcats a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the War Eagles.

Not much got past Owen McMahan, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Greenbrier off the board. McMahan has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gage Walker, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Benjamin Kimbrough also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
